Junior Fellow (2016-2017)
Aobo is a candidate pursuing his M.T.S. in Religion, Politics, and Ethics. Prior to arriving at Harvard, he graduated from Wesleyan University with a degree in the College of Social Studies, a multidisciplinary major focusing on History, Economics, Government, and Social Theory. His honors thesis, “Overcoming the Great Displacement,” addresses the separation of liberal idealism and conservative Christian communities that has given rise to an interesting yet paradoxical alliance between American evangelicalism and the G.O.P. As a SRC Junior Fellow, Aobo will continue to examine the theme of his thesis by probing into the constraint of time on Christian environmental justice. His focus will be on how the theology of time in conservative Christian communities has influenced and shaped American evangelicals’ views on climate change, environmental activism and beyond.
