Research Associate (2014-2016)
Mara Block is the Harvard College Fellow in Religion in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University. She received her PhD from Harvard University in 2015. Her current project explores the relation between religion, psychology, and psychiatry surrounding the emergence of modern Christian pastoral counseling in 20th-century America, with a focus on the shifting rhetoric used to understand sexual maladjustment. In the 2015-2016 academic year, she is offering courses on religion and global health, ethnographies of religion, and on histories of modern psychology and religion.
