Rachael Canaday is a second year MTS candidate at Harvard Divinity School. She studies the intersection of religion, cultural studies and education. Her current research examines the historical development of Maria Montessori’s “cosmic education” and the ways in which religious philosophy and alternative spiritualities influenced Montessori’s history and science curriculum. In addition to her role at SRC, Rachael serves as graduate research assistant for the Religious Literacy Project at Harvard and looks at how religious diversity is represented in children’s and Y.A. literature. Rachael holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Mount Holyoke College, and an M.S. in Urban Education.
